My wife and I are no strangers to providing Hospitality. Corbie and James have done the same. Others have done so with various groups. There were a few people I had never met before, but I tried to make them feel as if we had known each other for years. Everyone contributed to the feast, and there was more than we could imagine! With that many people in attendance, there was one person that I didn't get to talk to much. I felt like I didn't get to speak to anyone enough. We were all having such a great time that there was only a couple Tafl games. I'm sure that everyone felt as if each person belonged there today.
Kinship is better than alienation. All of the people that came today contributed to the folk. I'm not focusing on "Folkish", but "folk" - people of similar faith. We all had different views on social issues, political issues, and many other issues. We didn't focus on that, and came together to make the day absolutely perfect. It has been over a year since IHF has been involved in an event. This was definitely a great comeback!
To all of those that didn't make it, couldn't make it, or just didn't want to come, or afraid to come, you really missed a great time. This won't be the last. We truly hope that you can find your way out to the next event.
HAIL THE GODS! HAIL THE FOLK!
